Thank you for being a part of “COMPLIANCE (R)EVOLUTION”!

On 27.10.2025. On the Day of Responsible Business in Serbia , the Annual Conference of the Association for Compliance in Business ” COMPLIANCE (R)EVOLUTION ” was successfully held at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Old Mill, in Belgrade. As in previous years, the conference put the Compliance function in its focus and tried to offer a different view of the current moment and the challenges in which the Compliance function is required to quickly adapt and (r)evolution in relation to the previous actions.

This already traditional event once again gathered in the same place all the most important representatives of the regional Compliance community, managers of large companies, representatives of the academic community, regulatory bodies and state authorities, all with the aim of further improving the dialogue, exchange of ideas and development of the Compliance function in all business sectors.

We owe a great deal of gratitude to the sponsors and partners of the conference, PwC Serbia, Petrikić and Partners (CMS), Radovanović Stojanović and Partners (RSP), Moravčević Vojnović and Partners (in cooperation with Schoenherr), AI company Faktum, IT company Wowa and Deurić winery.

The conference was supported by our partners: the Association of Serbian Banks, the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, the Association of Internal Auditors of Serbia, the Association of Financial Directors of Serbia, the Association of Lawyers in the Serbian Economy and the Association of Lawyers of North Macedonia.

In his introductory speech, after welcoming all the participants of the conference, the president of the Association for Compliance in Business, Miloš Bogdanović, made a few general remarks about the conference: “The annual conference of the Association for Compliance in Business is one of the most important and certainly the most influential Compliance conferences in the region, which gathers several hundred participants from all over the region every year. It represents a forum for all Compliance professionals and others interested in Compliance, culture and ethics in business, who see a benefit in the exchange of experiences, knowledge, ideas and the best At our conference, Compliance is the main topic, and it is discussed by Compliance professionals, experts from the country and abroad, and other lecturers who can contribute to the understanding of the Compliance function and its role in companies.

This year, the theme of the conference was COMPLIANCE (R)EVOLUTION, and there are many reasons for choosing this particular title. In the further course of the presentation, Miloš explained why the evolution of the Compliance function is necessary in order to eliminate the danger of the devaluation of the ideas on which Compliance is based in the changed circumstances, but also to actualize the role of Compliance in recognizing and amortizing new risks that the increasing uncertainty in the world and rapid technological development bring.

The conference was held on October 27, on the Day of Responsible Business in Serbia. On this day, we celebrate Compliance, as a set of values, an idea that brings together a large number of individuals, a philosophy in constant conflict with neo-capitalism. This day was established by the Association for Compliance in Business as the day of the Compliance function and all Compliance professionals in the country, whose association is necessary to ensure the further development and evolution of Compliance.

This day was also established as a day of remembrance for one of the founders and the first president of the Association for Compliance in Business, Miloš Tanjević, who left us too soon. Miloš was a visionary who, with his work, inexhaustible energy and knowledge, contributed to gather a large number of individuals around the idea of responsible or honorable business, many of whom sat in the front rows of this year’s conference of the Association.

In the end, instead of a conclusion, Miloš Bogdanović repeated that Compliance evolution is necessary and immediately. “We cannot promise that it will be easy, simple and pleasant for everyone, but we can promise that the Association for Compliance in Business will be there with you, as it has been until now, to experience the changes first hand and help in the further development of Compliance in the region.”

The conference program continued with lectures and panels in the morning and afternoon sessions. Among the lecturers and panelists of the conference this year were representatives of regional organizations, top management of large companies, partners of the largest law firms, doctors of science and professors.

This year, the hybrid model of holding the conference made it possible for colleagues from the region to follow the course of the conference online, not just live. All participants had the opportunity to listen and discuss the role, importance and evolution of the Compliance function in the region, the biggest regional challenges in harmonizing business with standards in the field of personal data protection, situations in which Compliance should say “no”, the impact of artificial intelligence on Compliance relevant risks, with a presentation of one of the AI solutions in practice, competition protection, as well as the relevant Compliance function and Internal Audit.

The formal end of the working part of the conference was marked by the organizer’s final address, summarizing the work of the conference, discussed topics, questions and conclusions, but also emphasizing the fact that being a Compliance professional is a profession of the future, which has not yet reached its full form and potential.

After the lectures and panels, the conference participants had the opportunity to attend the Association’s festive cocktail party and enjoy the wines of the Deurić winery, which is with us for the third year in a row as a cocktail sponsor within the Annual Conference of the Association for Compliance in Business.

See you next year!
